A global leader in life sciences is developing products and services that will have a positive impact on millions of people. This organization creates best-in-class mechatronic systems for a scalable cell therapy platform that is used to manufacture multiple cell therapy types with applications in oncology, regenerative medicine, and tissue engineering.
We are looking to hire a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for driving engineering activities to develop new features, improvements, and applications for the Cocoon ® platform. You will leverage your knowledge of eCAD, control system design, communication interfaces (USB, UART, SPI, I2C) and root cause analysis in our state-of-the-art facility.
As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will be given autonomy within the project requirements, and expected to bring new ideas and innovation to the table. You will be expected to collaborate with other team members and across functions, guide activities of others on the team, and support multiple projects.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Improve product quality and reliability, manufacturing efficiency and production yields through product design improvements
- Take ownership of the Cocoon Instrument product design and regulatory status to address opportunities related to performance and vision for the product through connection with the users’ needs and design-for-assembly
- Investigate product complaints and non-conformances, performs root cause analysis of failures, and proposes corrective actions in a timely fashion
- Generate and review technical documentation including investigative pursuits, conceptual design, mechanical drawings, and technical reports, all within a ISO 13485 Quality Management System.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Engineering degree with a focus in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Systems Engineering
- Must have 7+ years of demonstrated product development experience in industry
- Extensive use of design and diagnostic tools: eCAD, oscilloscopes, etc.,
- Adept at technical investigations and root cause analysis
- Leading and managing design tasks and development projects including work of external partners
- Knowledge and experience with PCBA design (schematic and layout) including design for EMC and electrical regulations
- Competency in integrated electro-mechanical systems design and control systems design
